Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Elkhart, IN

Job Type: FTE/Permanent

 

Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes, ensuring the efficient and safe production of restroom trailers and related products while maintaining high-quality standards and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement new and existing product lines.

Analyze and assess current systems to identify areas for improvement and eliminate inefficiencies.

Identify and implement solutions to reduce waste and improve production efficiency.

Oversee engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.

Apply engineering principles to ensure product safety, reliability, efficiency, and quality.

Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, calculations, reports, and related documentation.

Collaborate with engineers, managers, production teams, and external partners to apply innovative solutions and systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including system failures, defects, or complaints.

Conduct rigorous testing and validation to ensure product performance and safety.

Research and explore new technologies to design innovative solutions and products.

Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, standards, and policies.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in vehicle and/or trailer design.

Certifications: SolidWorks certification and Lean Six Sigma are preferred.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and electrical systems.

Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of Sage X is a plus.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to develop practical, creative solutions.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts.

Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in design and documentation.

Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in team settings, collaborating across functions.

Work Style: Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work independently.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
