Hi-Rail Railroad Technician

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is looking for a motivated and skilled Hi-Rail Technician with a positive attitude, strong ethics, mechanical expertise, and a strong focus on safety. This position involves spraying herbicide across various railroads and managing the maintenance and operation of trucks and equipment.Major Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise and manage all jobs/contracts assigned. Apply herbicides for weed, grass, and brush control across different railroad locations. Handle daily routing and scheduling tasks. Perform daily tank mixing of chemicals. Conduct truck inspections and manage the maintenance and repairs of the truck and spray system.Calibrate all spray equipment. Ensure all work is carried out in adherence to strict safety protocols. Maintain daily and weekly records. Serve as the primary point of contact with customers. Address customer and public complaints professionally. Report any potential liabilities immediately. Possess a thorough understanding of various weed, grass, and brush species.Have in-depth knowledge of the chemicals used, including what they control and their safety requirements. Fully understand application methods, equipment, calibration, and spray patterns. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience: Must be 21+ years of age. A valid state drivers license with at least 5 years of clean driving history.Willingness to travel away from home for up to 4-6 weeks at a time (hotel expenses covered by DCS). Must pass a pre-employment drug test, DOT physical, and background check to work on railroad property. Commercial Pesticide Applicator License is preferred. Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM, with shifts typically ranging from 10 to 12 hours.Some weekend or night work may be required. Occasional travel to offices during breaks for truck/equipment maintenance. Work hours may vary based on weather conditions and workload. Spraying is a seasonal task, aligned with the regional office schedule. Must adhere to the company's drug and alcohol policy.Training:
