Job Overview:
The Department Administrative Assistant has responsibilities involving Patient Access, Scheduling, Registration and patient discharge (including all required signatures and follow up).  Position schedule is 8am-4:30pm.

Responsibilities:
Insurance verification and authorization approval for POPS services.

Entering data into OPIE, obtaining detailed written orders (including physician signature), audit of work in progress (WIP) through date of delivery.

Provides estimates of fees to families, including discussing their financial obligation (when appropriate) including financial counseling and means testing when indicated.

Audit of EMR prior to submission for billing.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education

High School diploma/GED required 

 

Skills and Experience

1 year administrative experience in office setting

Skilled with computers and data entry. (Microsoft Office, Excel and Word). Proficient in EMR system Shriners Children’s is an EOE/Drug-Free, Smoke-Free Workplace.
