Job Title: Machine Maintenance Technician Job Description The Machine Maintenance Technician diagnoses and resolves equipment breakdowns on the manufacturing floor while prioritizing safety, minimizing downtime, and optimizing production efficiency. This role focuses primarily on responding to machine calls and breakdowns, with additional responsibility for performing predictive and preventive maintenance to keep production equipment running at peak performance.Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues on production machinery as breakdowns occur on the manufacturing floor. Respond to machine calls and breakdowns, dedicating approximately 85% of time to reactive maintenance activities. Perform scheduled and predictive maintenance tasks on a variety of machines and equipment according to established maintenance schedules.Replace or repair defective parts such as belts, bearings, motors, and sensors to restore equipment to proper working condition. Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Calibrate, align, and fine-tune machinery to ensure optimal performance, accuracy, and reliability.Troubleshoot and repair systems involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components, including 480-volt 3-phase motors. Collaborate with team members and leads to analyze and resolve complex technical repair issues. Perform preventive maintenance tasks to reduce unplanned downtime and extend the life of equipment.Conduct basic PLC and robotic troubleshooting as needed to support automated systems. Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to guide maintenance and repair activities. Document all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and actions taken, in the appropriate maintenance records.Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on equipment to maintain a safe work environment. The facility operates multiple shifts, with openings on 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.) and 3rd shift (10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.). Technicians work directly on industrial production equipment and automated systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and robotic components.
