Responsibilities / Tasks of the Role:
Responsible for executing capital and maintenance projects, including feasibility, scoping, engineering & design, RFQs, bidding, cost estimating and control, reporting, installation and construction planning and oversight, and close out.
Expected Role Challenges
Working for a large company can require several levels of coordination and approvals.
Responsible for all project phases and disciplines.
Essential Requirements of the role (Experience / Skills / Competencies)
" 15+ years experience in chemical / refining / oil and gas. EPC design, manufacturing, and operating plant experience. Min 10 years as project manager.
" Well-rounded; experienced in managing many small to medium-sized projects simultaneously.
" Quickly understands project scope, complexity, risks & issues, and applies appropriate project execution methods.
Proven ability to take on all aspects of engineering & design, procurement, estimating, scheduling, finance, construction and reporting.
Adapts to a diverse management environment, processes and procedures.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Desirable attributes of the worker (Experience / Skills / Competencies)
Organized, self-starter; can work with minimum direction, limited structure and procedures, and with narrow discipline engineering support.
Excellent rapport-builder and communicator. Will interface and coordinate with many departments and staff at all levels.
Willing and able to work in the plant environment under uncomfortable climate conditions.
Willing and able to travel to facilities in Texas, Louisiana, and California.
Technical Skills
Possesses multi-discipline engineering and technical skills and knowledge. Special emphasis in electrical, HSE, Process Safety Systems, and Instrumentation systems.
Experience with, and knowledge of, industry codes and standards, including ANSI, ASME, ASTM, API, PIP and others, as applicable to project.
Experienced in all project stages feasibility, bidding, approvals, Pre-Feed, FEED, EPC, and acceptance. Includes project control functions - cost estimates, cost monitoring, scheduling and reporting.
Education Qualifications (Required / Preferred)
BS in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering
Industry Background or Experience (Required / Preferred)
Chemical/Manufacturing/Refining
Required Accreditations / Qualifications / Certification / Licenses including Drivers License
PMP preferable.
