THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Materials Characterization Scientist/Engineer will serve as the on-site subject matter expert in a broad range of materials characterization and testing. This includes developing advanced and novel test methods across a dynamic portfolio of applications development projects. Techniques will span chemical, mechanical, thermal, and optical domains. The ideal candidate will lead the characterization aspects of critical projects and support data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of key results.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hands-on scientist or engineer with deep knowledge of materials characterization techniques
Skilled in developing non-standard or advanced test methods for specialized applications
Strong lab presence and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Capable of independently conducting experiments and interpreting data to guide next steps
Collaborate closely with engineers and technical specialists across a diverse project portfolio, including mechanical, thermal, and optical testing
Basic experience with data analysis and statistics
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
QUALIFICATION :
Required: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with significant hands-on training and experience
Preferred: 1–3 years of post-degree laboratory experience operating characterization equipment such as rheometers, tensile testers, confocal microscopes, TGA, DSC, etc.
Familiarity with a wide range of chemical, thermal, and mechanical characterization techniques
Well organized, detail-oriented, with strong presentation and communication skills
Self-motivated with a passion for learning and strong analytical thinking
