What You'll Need to Succeed:
Board Certification in Surgery
Valid State Medical License
DEA Certification
BLS and ACLS Certifications
Strong clinical skills with ability to perform general surgery procedures
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to handle 0-10 patient calls daily with efficiency and professionalism
Flexibility to do 8-day stretches per month, including overnight call coverage from 7 am to 7 am
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with endoscopy procedures such as EGD and Colonoscopy
Prior experience in hospital-based surgical practice
Familiarity with Cerner EMR system
Willingness and ability to secure licensure, preferably IMLC or WV temporary license
Preferred Education & Experience:
Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Minimum of 3 years surgical experience in a hospital setting
Proven ability to manage diverse surgical cases and emergencies
Other Requirements:
Commitment to working 8-day calls, with potential for some travel (full travel paid; preference for candidates comfortable commuting)
Willingness to work scheduled holiday rates for recognized holidays
Must pass credentialing process within 60 days
Ability to perform special procedures such as EGD and Colonoscopy is preferred but not mandatory
