Youth Tumbling Instructor

We are seeking an energetic and dependable youth tumbling instructor to join our Parks and Recreation team. Candidates should have experience teaching tumbling and gymnastics fundamentals to youth in a positive, safe, and encouraging environment. Applicants should be available to teach various weekday classes between 9:00am-5:30pm with potential weekend teaching opportunities based on facility scheduling needs. Strong communication skills, class management, and the ability to work with children of varying ages and skill levels are essential. The instructor will be responsible for creating engaging classes, promoting skill development and confidence, while prioritizing participant safety.Instructors are responsible for the planning, teaching, and execution of specialized instruction in a specific topic/skill to individuals participating in City of Surprise classes, programs, and sports camps. One year of experience in the topic area teaching, coaching, and/or making presentations; education cannot be substituted for experience. Must be at least 18 years of age. Certifications related to a program area as required. Preferred Certifications: First Aid/CPR Certification, Tumbling Safety Certification, Fingerprint Clearance Card. Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include: Criminal Background Screening, Drug Screen, Education&Experience Verification, E-Verify, Fingerprinting.
