This is an opportunity to work with a leading provider of legal services for individuals, families, and closely held family businesses. Located in Camillus, just west of Syracuse, we proudly serve clients across New York State. Their our goal is to build long-term relationships so we can better understand, anticipate, and meet their clients' needs. They collaborate closely with accountants, financial planners, local attorneys, and consultants to deliver creative, comprehensive solutions.
This is a full-time position, 32 to 40 hours per week. Days and hours are flexible, provided a consistent weekly schedule is maintained. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with optional weekend hours if desired. We also offer a business casual and relaxed work environment.
Summary
We are looking for a self-motivated, high-energy and very detail-oriented Paralegal to ensure smooth and effective client management. Paralegal will provide a broad spectrum of Paralegal services included but no limited to Real Estate transactions, Estate Administration, Estate Planning and Business Formations under the supervision of the attorney.
This position also directly supports the team in general office administration, assisting in the preparation of transactional documents for real estate, LLC formations, estate planning and administration.
Duties
Call and communicate with clients, attorneys, and outside vendors Manage the attorney's travel schedule and client meeting calendar Organize and maintain documents in both paper and electronic filing systems Proofread documents for grammar, accuracy, and formatting Draft correspondence, including letters and emailsPrepare the attorney for client meetings by ensuring all required documents are complete and organized Prepare and draft real estate legal documents, including deeds, contracts, leases, subleases, closing documents, and resolutions Review property-related materials such as legal descriptions, deeds, purchase agreements, financing requirements, tax bills, environmental reports, zoning issues, soil and well tests, and affidavitsConduct title research, including performing title searches, analyzing title documents, identifying defects, and coordinating resolution prior to closing Coordinate real estate transactions by managing timelines, closing dates, and ensuring all documents are prepared and ready for closing File and record documents, including deeds, leases, and other real estate filings, with the appropriate government or regulatory agenciesMaintain communication as the primary liaison with clients, lenders, real estate agents, landlords, and property managers to keep all parties aligned Oversee LLC formations, including preparing and filing documents with the New York Department of State and coordinating required newspaper publicationsPrepare and draft estate planning and trust documents Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Qualifications Highly organized High attention to detail Efficient in MS Office Suite Problem Solving Skills Self-motivated&takes initiative Strong communication skills Confident in talking on the phone with clients, attorneys, vendors, etc Ability to juggle multiple activities and works well under pressure Prior experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or law office setting if preferred Experience in real estate law, title work or estate planning is highly desirableFamiliarity with New Yor real estate procedure and state filing requirements is a plus
