Overview:
The People Services Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the HR function, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, benefits administration, and organizational development. This role partners with leadership to align HR strategies with business goals, fosters a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and ensures compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations. The HR Manager plays a key role in driving employee engagement, supporting workforce planning, and implementing policies and programs that support the company’s mission and values.

Responsibilities:
Handles employee leaves of absence (LOA) including FMLA, ADA, and Worker’s Compensation. Works directly with leaders, 3rd party administrators and employees on LOA needs.

Serves as point of contact for employee relations matters

Ensure compliant workplace policies and practices with a redesigned employee handbook that is comprehensively concise and practical to support all AVP practice locations

Develop and implement strategic talent practices (goal management, performance development, future leader readiness, employee engagement & voice, rewards & recognition) that support employee growth and retention

Address employee relations issues fairly and timely, including conducting investigations and maintaining appropriate documentation

Ensure labor law compliance, including labor law poster management and providing education to organizational leaders on labor law requirements

Partner closely with the Director of People Services and the recruiting, onboarding, and leadership development functional leaders to create a cohesive employee experience to attract, hire, engage, grow, and retain exceptional talent in a competitive market

Drive company-wide employee voice initiatives that seek input from our people to help improve employee satisfaction, retention and productivity and enhance the AVP employee experience and employment brand

Build positive relationships with employees and serve as a trusted partner to the field (clinics and surgery centers) and administrative leaders across the organization

Qualifications:
REQUIRED:  Expertise in employee relations, leaves of absence (LOA), Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) policies & procedures, and strategic talent practices

REQUIRED:  Strong knowledge of DOL (Department of Labor) and labor law compliance (FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, etc.)

Bachelor's degree in HR, business or other applicable field

PHR, SPHR or other HR-related certifications appreciated

3+ years of HR leadership experience 

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Phenomenal attitude and heart for people

Ability to travel up to 25% and be a regular presence among AVP offices
