divh2Controller For Commercial General Contractor/h2pWe are currently conducting a Controller search for a Commercial General Contractor based in Tempe, AZ.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will oversee a small accounting team and be responsible for core accounting operations including month-end close, job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
The Controller will also play a key role in financial planning, performance analysis, and an upcoming ERP system conversion.
This is an in-office role, 5 days a week at their office in Tempe, Arizona.
/ppResponsibilities:/pulliOversee month-end close, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and overall accounting operations.
/liliLead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and profitability analysis.
/liliManage job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and project profitability tracking.
/liliMonitor financial performance metrics and maintain target profit margins.
/liliDevelop and manage cash flow planning and capital strategies to support company growth.
/liliEnsure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
/liliImplement and maintain strong internal controls and financial risk management processes.
/liliPartner with operational leaders to ensure project-level financial accountability.
/liliIdentify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies through financial analysis.
/liliLead ERP implementation and optimize financial systems, automation, and reporting capabilities.
/liliOversee payroll administration and performance-based compensation structures.
/li/ulpRequirements:/pulliBachelors in Accounting, Finance, or related is required/liliCPA a plus/lili7+ years of accounting/finance experience/lili3+ years commercial real estate construction accounting experience (including job costing, WIP reporting, etc.), ideally working for a General Contractor.
