Assembler
This role performs complex mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies in a modern manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet strict quality and safety standards. You will interpret detailed technical documentation, troubleshoot assembly issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives while mentoring junior assemblers and collaborating closely with engineering and production teams.Responsibilities
Execute complex assembly tasks, including advanced mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies, to produce high-quality finished products. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure accurate assembly of all components. Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve issues in assembly processes and product functionality.Coach and train lower-level assemblers, providing day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and support on assembly techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards. Ensure the team adheres to all safety policies, regulatory compliance standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment. Continuously review assembly processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend changes to increase efficiency and reduce waste in line with lean manufacturing principles.Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other departments to resolve design, fit, or manufacturing issues that arise during assembly. Perform final quality inspections and functional testing to verify that assembled products meet company standards and customer specifications. Maintain accurate inventory of parts and materials required for assembly, monitor stock levels, and communicate replenishment needs to keep production running smoothly.Assist with the setup, calibration, and operation of automated and semi-automated equipment used in the assembly process. Work effectively on an assembly line and in general production environments, ensuring consistent output and a low rate of error. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to assemble parts, following schematics and work instructions.Follow lean manufacturing guidelines and actively contribute continuous improvement suggestions to enhance productivity and quality. Meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail. Essential Skills
At least 25 years of experience in assembly or manufacturing roles, including experience in leadership or team supervision. Proven experience working on an assembly line and in general production environments. Mechanical assembly experience with both small and larger parts. Expertise in reading and interpreting complex technical documents, including engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in assembly and production settings. Ability to train, mentor, and support junior team members and contribute to overall team development. Strong knowledge of quality control processes and manufacturing best practices. Ability to use hand tools confidently and consistently, assembling parts with a low error rate.Experience using power tools in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines without compromising quality. Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and stoop, kneel, or crouch as required.Ability to climb portable ladders safely when needed. Standard hours are 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday (four 10-hour shifts), with the need to remain open to occasionally staying late and working some Fridays or Saturdays when production demands require it. The position involves working on an assembly line and in general production areas, using hand tools, power tools, and automated or semi-automated equipment. The physical environment requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed, as well as safely climb portable ladders. Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are essential for precise assembly tasks. Personal protective equipment is required and provided, supporting a strong safety culture.
