Heavy Equipment Operator
Trillium Construction is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators near Emporia, VA to support the foundation work for a large-scale power plant construction project.
This role is critical to the early phases of the build and requires operators who can work efficiently, safely, and with precision in a fast-paced job site environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment including loaders, skid steers, GPS dozers, excavators, and motor graders
Perform site preparation, grading, trenching, and material movement for foundation work
Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and GPS controls when applicable
Work closely with site supervisors and crews to meet project timelines and production goals
Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintain equipment in safe working condition
Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety protocols at all times
Pay rate is up to $30/hour.
Schedule: Mon - Fri, 40h/week.
Qualifications:
Proven experience operating heavy equipment on commercial or industrial construction projects
Experience with loaders, skid steers, GPS bulldozers, excavators, and/or motor graders
Preference for operators with multi-equipment experience, but strong experience on one or two pieces of equipment will be considered
Experience with GPS-controlled grading systems is a plus
Ability to read site plans and understand grade requirements
Strong awareness of safety procedures and job site hazards
