Position Summary:
The Manager, Engineering ensures reliable, efficient manufacturing operations, supporting Empower’s mission to expand access to life-changing medications. This role drives process optimization, manages projects, and fosters innovation to enhance productivity and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the engineering team to provide 24/7 support for manufacturing operations, addressing technical challenges, ensuring equipment reliability, and optimizing production efficiency.

Manages engineering projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget execution, while identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and maintain quality standards.

Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Quality Assurance, to align engineering efforts with company objectives and regulatory requirements.

Oversees resource allocation, prepares reports on engineering activities, and ensures documentation and procedures remain accurate and compliant with quality standards.

Mentors and develops team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while managing performance and supporting professional growth.

 

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrates exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to collaborate across teams and manage tasks effectively in high-pressure environments.

Possesses in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements, with proficiency in Quality Management Systems, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.

Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering is required.

Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making—adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
