What is the opportunity?
This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career finance professional to join a mission-driven organization and play a key role in supporting the financial health and operational success of Foundation Academies.
As a Business Office Finance Associate, you will gain hands-on experience across core finance functions including accounts payable, reconciliations, grants management, reporting, and audit preparation.
You will work closely with the Controller and a collaborative operations team, contributing to systems that ensure accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in financial operations.
This role offers meaningful exposure to nonprofit/school finance, opportunities to strengthen technical and analytical skills, and the chance to directly support work that impacts scholars, families, and school communities.

What will you be doing?
Process and track vendor invoices and support accounts payable operations
Assist with accounts receivable and revenue deposits to ensure timely and accurate recording
Support monthly reconciliations and ensure financial data is accurate and properly documented
Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and documentation
Track grant expenditures and support grant compliance reporting requirements
Assist with preparing financial reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, and supporting materials
Update financial systems, trackers, and databases to ensure accuracy and completeness
Respond to finance-related inquiries from staff and vendors in a timely and professional manner
Collaborate with school-based and central office teams to support smooth financial operations
Support audit preparation and other finance-related projects as assigned
What do we require from you?
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or equivalent relevant experience)
13 years of experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, grants management, or related administrative/operational work preferred
Experience in nonprofit or school-based finance strongly preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
Familiarity with accounting or financial systems preferred
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset
