Office Assistant
The Office Assistant is responsible for performing all necessary administrative functions and assists in the day-to-day operation of the location as well as provides maximum service to customers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Greeting customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous manner when they enter the office responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meeting commitments.
Providing a high level of customer service.
Answering telephone in a professional manner and assisting customers with sales, questions or complaints.
Accurately completing and following accounting procedures including periodic inventory of merchandise, daily cash controls including daily deposits, reconciling point of sales and customer payments and submitting accounting information as needed daily to the main office in Seneca.
Operating the scale for inbound and outbound grain.
Immediately reporting purchasing needs of customers to the grain department at the main office in Seneca and producing customer grain checks when needed.
Performing Agworks (agronomy software) and Agris (accounting software) tasks as requested.
Assisting the accounting/finance team with tasks as requested.
Adherence to safety policies
Promoting and adhering to the company Core Values of honesty, integrity & teamwork.
Adhering to cooperative credit policy.
Securing facilities and equipment when closing.
Promptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as needed.
Present a clean and professional appearance.
Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
This position requires a high school diploma; at least one year of office experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
Must have proficient computer skills and be willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes or other job-related education requirements or opportunities.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations.
Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.
