The City of Heyburn is seeking community-engaged police officers to join our team. As a growing community in the Mini-Cassia area, there is an elementary school within the city limits and two community hospitals within 15 minutes. Heyburn is close to several recreation type activities including motocross, golf, ATV riding, hiking, fishing, hunting, boating, horse events, camping and many more. With two state highways running through town, many enjoy being able to travel to Boise or Salt Lake for the "big city" experience but return home to Heyburn and Minidoka County.Heyburn is a growing police department that is under new leadership focused on innovation and developing a working partnership with our community, which we strive to continually improve. The Heyburn Police Department is currently allotted 8 commissioned police officers who provide 24-hour coverage to our community.LATERAL OFFICERS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED! If you have answered yes to the above, then look no further than Heyburn!REQUIREMENTS * At least 21 years of age * Minimum of a High School diploma or GED * Must be able to complete POST physical agility requirements * Must have a clean background and pass extensive background check * Pass employment based polygraph, drug testing and psychological exam * Preferred possess a minimum of a POST Basic Certification.HEYBURN'S HIRING PROCESS After submitting an application, the testing process will be as follows: Physical Agility Test: Written Test: Oral Board Interview: Background Investigation: Polygraph: Conditional Stage: LATERAL APPLICANTS ARE EXEMPT FROM THE PHYSICAL AGILITY AND WRITTEN TESTS. These benefit offerings are subject to change or termination in the sole discretion of the City Council. Each benefit offering is subject to the specific terms of its respective insurance policy and/or official resolution of the City Council. The City uses the calendar year rather than the date of employment for calculating leave benefit time for City employees. If an employee chooses to separate employment with the city but is later rehired, all years of service for the purpose ofcalculating benefits will start from the date of rehire (no credit for prior service).A.
