Acorn Forestry is seeking a dependable General Forestry Laborer/Burn Technician to join our Burn field crew. This full-time role offers steady, year-round outdoor work with opportunities to travel and develop new skills in reforestation and prescribed burning. Ideal candidates are safety-conscious, punctual, and take pride in their work supporting forestry operations across the western Gulf region.

Responsibilities Assist with ignition activities according to approved burn plans Light fire lines during prescribed burn operations Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and protocols Monitor fire behavior and report changes immediately Support site preparation, execution, and securing of burn areasAssist with reforestation and other forestry services Properly use and maintain hand tools Travel frequently, including about 25% overnight stays, for project work Follow direction from supervisors at all times

Required Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older Valid driver’s license Ability to navigate difficult terrain and lift heavy items Pass a background check Reliable and able to work outdoors in varying conditions Willingness to relocate to Lufkin, TX before starting
