Heavy Equipment Operator
Waste Connections is searching for our next All-Star Heavy Equipment Operator to join us at our West Van Materials Recovery Center ***** NW Old Lower River Rd, Vancouver, WA *****).
Starting rate of pay is $*****/HR
Schedule is MONDAY - FRIDAY (with an occasional Saturday)
Shift is 12:30 PM 8:30 PM (or until close/last truck out).
Overtime often.
Safety Sensitive: YES
Qualified candidates must have Front End Loader, Excavator, Yard Truck and Trailer experience.
Duties And Responsibilities
Requires ability to efficiently & safely operate Front End Loader, Excavator, Yard Truck and Trailer.
Compactor experience preferred.
Requires Valid Drivers License and acceptable motor vehicle report.
Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions And Physical Effort
Extensive physical activity.
Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Ability to operate heavy equipment is required.
Knowledge of basic computer skills.
Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 500-hours of Heavy Equipment Operating experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Heavy Equipment Operating certification from an accredited trade school preferred.
Basic knowledge of computer skills.
