Childcare Aide - Citizens HealthPlex (PT)

Shift: Monday - Friday (2-8PM), Rotating Saturdays (8AM - 1PM) Job Summary The Childcare Aide provides a safe and secure environment for children to play and create art while the parent or guardian participates in HealthPlex activities and services. Greet parents/guardians and children and ensure 100% compliance with check in and checkout procedures.Ensure that children are suitable for entry and have no signs of illness, etc. as per policy. Be active in the room and engage children in appropriate activities for their age. Clean toys, tabletops, and other areas as appropriate throughout the day and evening. Initiate proper opening and closing procedures as appropriate.Communicate with Manager or Director as needed for sensitive situations, or if parents have concerns. Cross train with Member Services as appropriate to assist when needed. Politely enforce the 2-hour limit and all other policies with parents and guardians. Ensure all appropriate paperwork and data collection is in place for each child.Create reports and similar for Manager as requested. Hospital: Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures. Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital's Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations. Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital's Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.Performs within professional Scope of Practice at all times. Other Duties As Assigned: Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time Minimum Requirements Educational Requirements Preferred: High school diploma or equivalentExperience Required: Previous childcare experience in a formal or informal professional family setting. Preferred: 1-2+ years of regular childcare experience Special Skills and Abilities: Required: Must have a love for children, able to be patient yet firm, and must be able to effectively enforce the rules and regulations of the environment. Must be able to communicate effectively with parents and guardians.Licensure / Certification Requirements Required: BLS training certificate upon hire OR within 90 days of hire; First Aid certification upon hire OR within 90 days of hire (offered internally).
