Staff Accountant, New Jersey

Our client, a wholesaler located in Vineland, NJ, is looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team. Job duties include:

Responsible for recording, monitoring, and reporting the accounting activities of Accounts Payable & Receivable, Billing, and Collections in the company's Microsoft Dynamics NAVISION /BC software

Accounts Payable will include such duties as invoice generation and entry, check-runs, and timely payments. Must be able to communicate timely and effectively with vendors

Accounts Receivable will require some collection effort with several customers and Invoicing

Assist with annual general ledger close and preparation of accounting schedules that support the general ledger balances, financial statements and agency filings

Assist in the preparation of the Company's annual financial statements and balance sheet and profit and loss variance analyses.

Possesses the ability to recognize and suggest innovative processes to enhance the timeliness and accuracy of data entry, analyses, and financial statement preparation

Maintains account analyses monthly that are clearly organized and easily accessible to management

Have a working knowledge of general accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Provides management with meaningful, accurate and timely financial information and reports as requested.

Assist with special ad hoc projects as assigned.

Perform monthly bank reconciliations

Reconcile intercompany accounts

File monthly Sales Tax reports for multiple states

Maintain organized filing and readiness of current A/P and A/R. File documents annually

General accounting oversight

Occasional post office errands or bank runs

The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required

3-5 years of accounting experience

Strong Knowledge of GAAP principles

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision, or similar ERP system a plus; Google Mail

Excellent technical skills with computers including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access

Ability to work fully onsite at the Vineland, NJ location. This is NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
