Job Title: Mechatronics&Robotics Technician (Temporary)
Job Description
The Mechatronics&Robotics Technician supports a highly automated distribution facility by installing, maintaining, and repairing complex material handling and robotic systems. This role focuses on ensuring maximum uptime and reliability of conveyors, robotics, and associated electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment through thorough troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment, including automated conveyor systems and related components.
Perform quality predictive and preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
Complete preventive maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures in accordance with established standards.
Conduct battery changes and perform preventive maintenance on industrial batteries and related equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment, automation, and robotic systems to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.
Manage and update work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate records of work performed.
Enter equipment downtime data in daily logs and complete preventive maintenance sheets with detailed and accurate information.
Track, organize, and store department inventory, including spare parts and critical components.
Apply knowledge of basic electrical components and electronic principles while working safely on live and de-energized systems.
Follow and demonstrate established safety standards and procedures during all maintenance and repair activities.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance team members to support continuous improvement of equipment performance and reliability.
Perform diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on complex industrial systems, particularly conveyors and other material handling equipment.
Essential Skills
At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventive maintenance procedures on industrial or automated equipment.
At least 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
At least 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
At least 2+ years of knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical and electronic principles.
At least 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.
At least 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment systems.
At least 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
Experience with automated conveyor systems and related industrial equipment.
Ability to complete preventive maintenance on conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and motors using schematics and technical documentation.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills&Qualifications
Experience as an industrial maintenance or equipment maintenance technician in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or other industrial environments.
Background performing diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, and creating work orders for complex systems and industrial equipment.
Hands-on experience with conveyors and other material handling equipment, including controls and robotics.
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for managing work orders and maintenance history.
Comfort working with high-speed automation and robotic equipment.
Strong attention to detail in documentation, logging downtime, and completing preventive maintenance records.
Ability to work effectively in a data-driven environment where performance metrics are tracked.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment
You will work in a large, high-speed distribution facility that relies heavily on automated and robotic material handling equipment. The role is physically active and requires comfort with walking significant distances, such as approximately 10,000 steps per day, and safely lifting up to 49 pounds as needed. All candidates must be open to working any 10-hour shift, as positions are available across multiple shifts and schedules in a continuous operation.

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
