Lead Fitter / Welder

Pay:

$22.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience

Shifts Available:

Day Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm Nights: Monday - Thursday 3:00pm to 1:30am - Plus a $1.00 shift differential

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Fitter/Welder responsible for fabricating a variety of miscellaneous metal projects. This role involves cutting, fitting, and welding metal components using flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment while maintaining quality and safety standards. Essential Functions

Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded Maintain, organize, and keep work areas and equipment in proper operating condition Hand-weld and/or flame-cut equipment to join metal components Cut and scarf using an oxy-acetylene torch Perform structural welding using FCAW and SMAW processesAlign and fit parts according to specifications using jacks, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers Properly assemble and disassemble weld setups Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches Reshape metal workpieces to meet specifications Perform additional duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills&Abilities

Knowledge of metal fabrication and basic shop equipment Proficiency in MIG welding with the ability to pass a welding test TIG welding experience is a plus Ability to read and interpret blueprints Strong adaptability and ability to work under pressure Ability to multitask and meet deadlines Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent Minimum of two years of experience in a structural welding environment Ability to pass a Fillet Weld Test Physical Requirements
