Administrative Assistant

Understands and follows the organization's policies, procedures and standards. Is an independent worker, meeting the day-to-day needs of the director and the department. Participates in the department's and organization's performance improvement activities.Greets visitors, directs visitors appropriately; maintains the communication flow of the office. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized during stressful situations. Answers the telephone in a professional manner; screens calls, takes messages, directs calls appropriately. Sorts, logs and distributes all incoming mail; identifies mail that needs immediate attention.Maintains an organized, efficient filing system. Debrides files according to established department and hospital guidelines. Records, prepares and distributes meeting minutes. Orders supplies and printing weekly. Assists in cost containment through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.Interacts professionally with all visitors, within the department/office and with other departments. Transcribes from dictated or written material minutes, memoranda, policies, procedures and reports. Accepts other duties as assigned. Regulatory Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent.Previous knowledge of medical terminology required (great role for a care technician looking to step away from direct patient care) Must be able to use office software's such as Microsoft, Word, Excel Must be an organized multi tasker with strong written and verbal skills Position Summary: Location: Sharon HospitalWork Type: FT - 40hr Standard Hours: 8 hr shifts Work Schedule: Day 8 Work Shift: 7am - 3pm Department: Psych Salary Range: $17- 25/hr based on years of creditable experience
