Job Summary
Full Time Rotate
Up to $10,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.
The Staff Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care services to the patients including, but not limited to oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing and proper documentation of patient medication therapy as well as providing drug information, patient information and oversight of information and dispensing systems.
Additionally: ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
May also advise physicians on medication utilization.
Responsibilities
Review and monitor patient's medication therapy and orders written for safety and efficacy considering specific patient conditions and health status; advise patient care team on patient's medication therapy and document such interventions.
Order verification and performing medication profile reviews that should include but not limited to checking for duplications, drug-drug and drug-food interactions, allergies, drug appropriateness, dosing, and frequency.
Prepare, label, and dispense medications for patients in accordance with physicians' prescriptions; ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and narcotics and the maintenance of required records.

Hours: Mon - Fri 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Every 4th weekend
Education: PharmD.
Requirement: PGY-1 or equivalent experience with BCPS
Preference: PGY-2 in IM
Education
Required: Pharm.
D. or BS in Pharmacy
Experience
Preferred: Hospital experience
License
Current registered pharmacist license in the State of Florida
Certifications
Required: BLS within 30 days of hire (ACLS and/or PALS if code attendance required);
Preferred: Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS), CGP, etc.
Organization Description
St. Mary's Medical Center (SMMC), part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 420-bed acute care hospital in West Palm Beach.
The hospital has been serving Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast for more than 80 years.
SMMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a state-designated Pediatric Trauma Referral Center, certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and has a level III NICU.
Pediatric services are provided at the Palm Beach Children's Hospital at St. Mary's Medical Center, which is the only dedicated children's hospital between Ft.
Lauderdale and Orlando.
Along with 24/7 dedicated pediatric emergency and trauma care, Palm Beach Children's Hospitals medical staff consists of 196 pediatricians in 36 subspecialties.
