Job Description
The Production Worker supports multiple stages of the mattress manufacturing process, including mattress assembly, quilting, and material handling.
You work as part of a team to assemble mattress components according to detailed work instructions, operate hand and power tools, and move materials between production areas.
This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions accurately, and comfort working in a manufacturing environment with physical demands and overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
Assemble mattresses according to established work instructions using a variety of hand and power tools such as c-ring hog-ring guns, staple guns, and hot glue guns.
Work in teams of two in mattress assembly to apply glue and foam and build the interior components of mattresses to specified requirements.
Layer foam on top of coil units and apply the proper upholstery layers and foam encasement to complete mattress assembly.
Inspect mattress components and finished units for unacceptable flaws or structural defects and ensure quality standards are met.
Follow written work instructions and review work orders to ensure accuracy in all tasks and production steps.
Work in the Quilting department to handle fabrics used for mattress borders and pillow tops, including cutting, measuring, and sewing materials according to specifications.
Operate sewing machines to sew fabric together and create pillow tops and borders while maintaining consistent quality and alignment.
Work at production tables to measure, cut, and assemble fabric and other materials in accordance with the work instructions for each mattress component.
Perform material handling duties using push carts to move materials between process areas such as Quilting and Mattress Assembly.
Stage materials after quilting and prepare them for the next production step, ensuring the correct materials reach the appropriate workstation.
Move materials around the production area based on work instructions and production flow requirements.
Support various process areas including Coiling, Foam Encasement, Assembly, Gluing, Sewing, Borders, Quilting, Closing, and Packing as needed.
Perform general production, machine operation, packaging, packing, and assembling tasks in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Conduct basic quality checks on components and finished products to identify defects and ensure they meet production standards.
Use hand tools, including nail guns in some assembly roles, safely and efficiently as part of the production process.
Maintain a clean and safe work area by following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment.
Stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift.
Adapt to working in different areas within assembly and other departments as production needs change.
Participate in a fast-paced, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement environment by following standardized processes and contributing to efficient workflow.
Essential Skills
Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand work instructions and work orders.
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, assembly, or warehouse environment preferred.
At least 1+ years of experience using hand tools and performing general assembly work.
Experience working in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment performing general labor tasks.
Ability to use hand and power tools such as staple guns, hot glue guns, c-ring hog-ring guns, and nail guns safely and effectively.
Experience with general production, assembling, machine operation, packaging, packing, and mechanical assembly.
Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day and longer during overtime as required.
Capability to perform physical tasks common in manufacturing, including prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and moving materials.
Ability to follow detailed work instructions and review work orders for accuracy.
Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing plant with high noise levels and exposure to hot raw materials and limited chemicals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using sewing machines for sewing and assembly of fabric components.
Expierence in sewing, quilting, or fabric assembly work.
Experience as a material handler moving and staging materials in a production environment.
Prior exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement environments.
Hand tools experience preferred, including the use of nail guns for some assembly roles.
Experience in mattress assembly, quilting, or similar assembly processes is a plus.
Ability to perform quality checks on components and finished products.
Flexibility to work in multiple process areas such as Coiling, Foam Encasement, Assembly, Gluing, Sewing, Borders, Quilting, Closing, and Packing.
Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays based on production volume.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working quickly.

Work Environment
The role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing plant that operates in an air-conditioned environment.
Standard hours are Monday through Friday, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the expectation that associates remain flexible to work up to 12-hour shifts depending on production volume.
Training may begin at 8:00 a.m. on the first day.
There is frequent opportunity for overtime, and associates may work most Saturdays during peak seasons.
The work involves physical demands typical of manufacturing, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving materials for at least 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations.
The facility is clean and safety-focused, with exposure to high noise levels, hot raw materials, fire-retardant materials, and limited chemicals.
Personal Protective Equipment is required for certain tasks and is supplied by the company.
Work takes place in various process areas such as Coiling, Foam Encasement, Assembly, Gluing, Sewing, Borders, Quilting, Closing, and Packing, using hand and power tools, sewing machines, and push carts to move materials throughout the production floor.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Riviera Beach, FL.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $***** - $*****/hr.
