Job Description:
As a Data Architect/Engineer will support the development, optimization, and management of data infrastructure. This includes building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes, ensuring data security and compliance, and implementing automation strategies to enable real-time data accessibility. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a security-first mindset, and the ability to operate within complex data environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the design, development, and management of scalable data infrastructure
Build and maintain efficient ETL processes and data pipelines
Automate data workflows to support real-time analytics and reporting
Ensure compliance with data governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and optimize delivery
Leverage cloud platforms to enhance data accessibility, storage, and security
Monitor data systems for performance, integrity, and availability
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or cloud engineering
Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala
Hands-on experience with Azure or another major cloud platform
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, data governance frameworks, and compliance requirements
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in government, public safety, or legal data environments
Certification in Cloud Engineering, Data Engineering, or Security
Familiarity with GIS data, real-time streaming technologies, or Apache Airflow
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
