High School Assistant Cross Country Coaching Position

Position: High School Assistant Cross Country Coach Go WARRIORS! Application Procedure: Electronic Application Required Current coaches and internal employees: submit a letter of interest/cover letter through the electronic application process and update documents on file as needed. All other candidates please submit the Coaching Application form via the electronic process. Information needed to complete the process include:Letter of Interest addressed to High School Athletic Director Coaching Resume/Experience Coaching Philosophy Completed Application, including references Closing Date: Open until filled. Qualifications: Demonstrated ability, dedication and experience as an outstanding coach and teacher preferred (if a teacher position available).Teaching experience preferred, not required. Demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model. Proven success in leadership and working in groups. In-building staff members may receive preference in the screening and hiring process. Demonstrated capacity for collaboration, cooperation and coordination with colleagues and parents.Experience and knowledge in specified sport. Willingness to attend trainings. Ensure WIAA requirements/standards are compiled along with State&District laws, policies, and regulations. Valid First Aid and CPR card. Completion of Safeschool on-line training modules required. The salary for these positions will be determined by placement on the coaching salary schedule. Valid Washington Driver's License, Proof of Insurance; May be required to drive students therefore, would need to be able to clear Type II driving requirements.Wahluke School District Coaches/Advisors Expectations: Accountability to the highest standard of honesty and integrity. Primary concern for the health, safety, and personal welfare of each athlete/participant. Treat all persons with dignity and respect. Responsibility for assisting participants in acquiring necessary skills and promoting desirable traits.Observe the letter and intent of the rules of their activity. Shall not use profanity or abusive language. Perform duties on the basis of careful preparation. Head coaches/advisors will be responsible for the full program. Communicate effectively with athletes, participants, parents, community, and administration.Use positive reinforcement while emphasizing commitment to hard work. Recognize contributions of all players/participants. Support other coaches/advisors and programs. Teach fair play, team play, tolerance, and appreciation of parents, officials, and other teams. Represent the school, community, team, and self in an activity sponsored by the Wahluke School District.May promulgate rules and regulations applicable to their individual activity or team, provided they are not inconsistent with the provisions of the Code. Hold parent meetings to cover the activities code and expectations in each sport prior to student participating.
